Description

Heat Set Threaded Inserts

Many of the parts on the LulzBot TAZ 4, 5, 6 or the TAZ Mini are 3D printed. It can be difficult and ill-advised to thread your bare metal hardware into these plastic pieces. Use these Brass Heat-Set Inserts to avoid wear and thread failure.

Typically, the heat-set insert is installed with a soldering iron providing initial heat to the plastic while inserting the part. Once the inset is fully seated, heat is removed and the plastic with solidify around the brass part locking it in. Your metal nuts and bolts may now be easily and reliably threaded to your printer’s structural pieces.

These heat set threaded inserts are solid brass and M3 x 0.5 x 6.4.
