Brass Threaded Inserts

Many of the parts on the LulzBot TAZ 4, 5, 6 or the TAZ Mini are 3D printed. It can be difficult and ill-advised to thread your bare metal hardware into these plastic pieces. Use these Brass Heat-Set Inserts to avoid wear and thread failure.

Typically, the heat-set insert is installed with a soldering iron providing initial heat to the plastic while inserting the part. When the plastic cools, it solidifies to lock in the brass part. Your metal nuts and bolts may now be easily and reliably threaded to your printer’s structural pieces.

These brass threaded inserts are M5 x 0.8 x 6.7.
