As much as we love MakerBot Desktop as the slicer for our MakerBot Replicator 2’s, we occasionally hear folks lamenting the days of old. Or, in other words, the time before MakerBot Desktop. Back when the 5th Gen line of printers had not yet been announced and MakerWare 2.4 ruled the roost.
Don’t get us wrong, we love MakerBot Desktop. But to make that tool possible it had to strip out some functionality from MakerWare and then rebuild it in Desktop. If you still find yourself wanting to run MakerWare in a pre-5th Gen vintage, you can! We found an old install file for MakerWare 2.4.0.14 as we were cleaning out and reorganizing our files. It is the Windows x64 version, so sorry Linux/MacOS folks 🙁
