ANTCLABS BLTouch

The ANTCLABS BLTouch is an automatic bed leveling probe that can work with many different build surfaces.

What It the BLTouch?

The BLTouch is an auto bed leveling sensor developed by ANTCLABS in South Korea. It uses a solenoid and a hall sensor to accurately measure the distance between the probe and your bed. These measurements are then used to create a mesh of your bed and compensate for warps or other deviations in your beds height. Since the BLTouch uses a physical probe to take these measurements it can be used with most build surfaces. The BLTouch is also smaller than other bed leveling sensors, allowing it to fit on most machines.

Benefits To Your Prints

Not only is the BLTouch a cool piece of tech, but it also brings immediately noticeable improvements to your print quality. Using the BLTouch to compensate for warps or bowing in your bed, you will have more consistent bed adhesion and a better-looking first layer. This compensation is especially important when working with a larger format machine because as the bed gets bigger, the inconsistencies in the bed can become more prominent. The BLTouch also allows for an easier bed leveling experience, and even if your bed is not completely level, you will still be able to get a fantastic first layer. You can set the number and position of the points to probe in the firmware. This allows for a higher detail mesh if needed or a quick 9 point mesh before every print.

Is The ANTCLABS BLTouch Right For You?

Adding a genuine ANTCLABS BLTouch to your machine is a great upgrade for most 3D printing hobbyists. While some machines and board configurations make it easier than others, the installation process is usually pretty straightforward, especially when using a high-quality 32-bit board like this one. The BLTouch is widely used in the 3D printing community, making it very easy to find adapters, install instructions, or tips specifically for your machine. I would recommend the ANTCLABS genuine BLTouch to anyone wanting to take their machine to the next level.
